  1. Today is Election Day for the Senate runoff! Incumbent Democrat Raphael Warnock is running against Republican Herschel Walker. You need to vote at your assigned polling place; they will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. If you are in line by 7 p.m., you are allowed to cast your ballot. (AARP)
  2. Great news for motorists — gas prices in our region are continuing to drop. On average, the price in Georgia is below $3 per gallon for regular unleaded. Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA – The Auto Club Group, stated, “Pump prices have steadily decreased across Georgia over the past few weeks. Declining crude oil prices continue to be the single largest factor influencing gas prices, as well as the governor’s executive order to extend the suspension of the state diesel and gas taxes through Dec. 11.” (Cobb County Courier)
  3. Are you planning to be out of town during the holidays? Alpharetta residents can take advantage of a free service offered that helps keep your homes safe. You can request a vacation home check, where the police will check on your house while you're gone. Here is a link with more information. (Alpharetta Department of Public Safety)
  4. Milton residents can also have their home checked by your police department. To sign up, you need to fill out an online form for a vacation patrol request. It asks for specifics, including which car(s) will be on the property, alarm company name and if there are people who are authorized to be on your property. (Milton Police)
