'Find My iPhone' App Leads To Burglary Charge
Police say the accused was arrested and "thanked for his help in finding him," before being taken to jail.
ALPHARETTA, GA — An Alpharetta man was charged with burglary after giving away his location via an app on a stole iPhone, according to the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. Joshua Bass, 24, was arrested Sunday, Feb. 24.
Police responded to an alarm at Home Glass around 10:30 p.m. and met the owner there, who was also notified of the alarm.
The perpetrator never made it into the business, though there was damage to the back door, police say. "The business owner informed our officers that the business was burglarized back in January and that, among many other items, an iPhone was stolen," police said.

That iPhone had the "Find my iPhone" app installed, which gave the address of the phone's location. Police went to that address twice. The second time, they "located and woke-up our suspect with the news that he had been caught."
Police say they got a search warrant and found all of the items stolen in January. They seized it all as evidence.
