Here are the top stories today in Alpharetta-Milton:

  1. A former Alpharetta police officer is facing charges that he allowed a K-9 to attack a man who was having a mental health crisis. Travis Moya was arrested in 2021 after his family called police due to a mental health situation. A K-9 officer who was accompanied by officer Michael Esposito mauled Moya over 40 times after latching onto his arm while officers were trying to use handcuffs. (WSB Atlanta)
  2. Bell Memorial Park in Milton had damage to pipes last December due to a cold snap. The areas affected were the "concession stand, restrooms, meeting room and maintenance building at 15245 Bell Park Road." The city of Milton is contracting with Prime Contractors for repairs including carpentry, painting and other items. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  3. Plans to shut down part of Canton Street in Roswell from cars have been paused due to push back from business owners in the area. They believe that shutting down the street will make traffic worse and parking more difficult. The city is putting together a task force to analyze the situation and make a recommendation. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  4. Starting on May 30, State Route 9 will be repaved between Upper Hembree Road and Old Milton Parkway in Alpharetta. This work will be done between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. While this work will be done overnight, drivers are encouraged to avoid driving in this area starting next week to avoid delays. Currently, there is no targeted completion date for this project. (City of Alpharetta GA via Facebook)

This lounge will also be available during other events at Truist Park. (WSB Radio)
