GA 400 Reopens After Woman Comes Down On Road Sign
Emergency responders shut down all southbound traffic on the highway as they got a woman down from a sign.
ALPHARETTA, GA — Alpharetta emergency responders saved a woman who said she was planning to jump from an overpass over GA 400 early Wednesday morning. When they arrived, they found a woman on a road sign over the highway's southbound lanes by Haynes Bridge Road.
Authorities shut down all southbound traffic and began communicating with her. "Our negotiators did a fantastic job and worked hard to persuade the woman to come down safely so she could get the help she needs," the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety said in a social media post.
Traffic was backed up for hours while police and fire did their work.
