Here are the top stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:

  1. Are you familiar with the Georgia 9-1-1 Medical Amnesty Law? It provides limited immunity for individuals for possession of drugs/alcohol when someone has an overdose and needs medical care. The quicker an individual receives medical attention after an overdose, the better their chances of having their life saved. (Alpharetta Department of Public Safety via Facebook)
  2. Join us at the Ed Isakson/Alpharetta Family YMCA in Alpharetta for a Holiday Extravaganza on Dec. 10 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. It's a chance to celebrate three winter holidays: Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas. Santa will be there for pictures, and there will be arts & crafts, music picture booth, plus refreshments that represent all three holidays. It is free to the community but registration is required. (Ed Isakson/Alpharetta Family YMCA via Facebook)
  3. The Alpharetta Community Center at 175 Roswell St. is celebrating a brand-new gym floor. It was recently renovated in time for basketball season. The center was constructed in 1997 and has been enjoyed by many thousands of residents. There was a flood in 2016 that caused the floor to buckle and damaged the foundation. The new floor cost $175,000 and has a moisture barrier to make sure that it is level. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  4. An assistant principal at Chattahoochee High School has been suspended after allegations of “inappropriate involvement” with a student. Dr. Michael Todd, the school's principal, sent a letter to parents stating that the school has suspended Assistant Principal Jonathan Adel pending an investigation. Adel has been at this school since 2020 and heads up the English and Fine Arts departments. (WSB-TV)
  5. Great news for Foundation Social Eatery fans! The popular restaurant will be reopening in Alpharetta next month after closing their Roswell location in 2020. It will be located at 55 Roswell St.; in early 2023, there will be an additional Parisian-style café called Petite FSE next door. The menu will have many of the items from the prior location plus some updated dishes. Petit FSE will offer breakfast and lunch, plus items to take home such as charcuterie boards.
