  1. Are you planning to vote in the upcoming election with an absentee ballot in a drop box? You can submit your vote that way between Oct. 17 and Nov. 4; please note that votes need to be made during specific hours due to changes in the Georgia voting laws. There are a few drop box locations in North Fulton County. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  2. A new Caribbean restaurant has opened in Milton! Auntie Vee's is at 12890 Highway 9 (the same plaza as Delightful Donuts and Kajun Seafood). The owner, Navena Moore, started her business in Chicago with a food truck and selling desserts. The menu has delicious specialties including "a jerk chicken rice bowl, loaded fries, peach cobbler, halal deli items, or your pick from many mac and cheese variations." (City of Milton)
  3. Early voting for the general election starts soon on Monday, Oct 17. It's recommended that you review a sample ballot to make sure you've had time to decide how to vote.   4. The Alpharetta Fall Wine Festival is in a few weeks! It will take place at the Ameris Ampitheatre on Nov. 5. It will include wine and beer samples, live music, souvenir wine glass and a DJ. Tickets are available now. (Awesome Alpharetta)

  • The City of Milton is hiring a new "Information Services Director to lead and direct the efficient and effective development, maintenances and operation of technology as well as related services within the government. This individual will take on a variety of important tasks from long- and short-range planning to budgeting to establishing appropriate service levels to developing project plans."   • Now that fall is here, it is important to take care of all the beautiful leaves properly. Please note that local ordinances have restrictions on where leaves may be placed in order to prevent safety hazards and flooding. For example, in Alpharetta, you're not permitted to move leaves into roadways, storm drains, or drainage ditches. (City of Alpharetta GA via Facebook)
  • Milton’s Birmingham Park has had several upgrades to make it even better for the community. Much of the improvements are for the for the equestrians in the area. For example, there is a new well to provide water for the horses. (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
  • The Milton Library is holding a food drive to benefit NFCC. It takes place on Oct. 14-Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The food drive is being sponsored by the Library's Teen Advisory Board. (Friends of The Milton Library via Facebook)
