- A man in Texas had his bank account used to allegedly fraudulently purchase a golf cart from LSV golf carts on Mayfield Road in Alpharetta. The store was contacted by a man who offered to purchase the golf cart and used a wire transfer to pay for it. It was delivered to an address in Marietta. The owner of LSV golf carts is working with the Marietta Police to find the suspect who made this purchase. (Appen)
- Yesterday was Juneteenth, which is a day that celebrates freedom for African American slaves. It was the day when slaves in Galveston, Texas, learned that they were free; they learned this over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed and two months after the Civil War ended. Celebrations in our area included food, music, education and more. "The City of Milton wishes a happy Juneteenth to all who are celebrating!" (City of Milton)
- There was a sewer spill over the weekend at the Three Chimney's Farm subdivision in nearby Cumming. The spill was caused by a blockage in a manhole that included rags, grease and other materials; the spill was contained after it was cleaned. However, approximately 4,100 gallons of sewage entered "an unnamed tributary of James Creek in the Three Chimneys Farm community between Homestead Ridge Drive and Three Chimneys Lane." If you need more information, contact the Forsyth County Department of Water & Sewer at 770-781-2160. (WSB Atlanta)
