Grilling & Gridiron Returns To Downtown Alpharetta

The sixth annual event, which benefits The Lionheart School, will be held Sept. 8 along Old Roswell Street.

ALPHARETTA, GA — A popular event benefiting a local school will return this weekend to downtown Alpharetta. The sixth annual Grilling & Gridiron will be held Saturday, Sept. 8 along Old Roswell Street behind Smokejack BBQ.

The event, which benefits The Lionheart School, kicks off at 1:30 p.m. with a tailgate where you will be able to sample some grilled treats, wine and craft beer. Tickets are $20 per person, but kids 12 and under will be admitted for free. Tastings will be from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., and these bites will be provided by area restaurants and community groups.

Residents will be able to watch SEC matchups on the big screen, including the University of Georgia Bulldogs taking on the South Carolina Gamecocks at 3:30 p.m. If your little ones aren't into college football, they will be able to partake in bounce houses, face painting and other games such as cornhole. Once the grill tasting wraps up at 5 p.m., the Halftime Awards ceremony will be held to recognize the best restaurant and best community group.
