- Have you heard of Sun Valley Beach Park? During the 1950s and 1960s it was located between Alpharetta and Roswell on Highway 9. It was formed in 1950 as a fishing lake, and grew into a recreation area with a beach, boating, snack bar, skating rink, bowling alley and stables. It was a popular place to hang out, as up to 500 to a 1,000 people would go there on weekends. Eventually the land was sold in 1965 and the park closed in 1968. Currently, there are "businesses and apartments along Sun Valley Drive, and the City of Roswell owns 11 acres of the original property." (Appen)
- Are you interested in learning about trends in residential and commercial real estate in our area? Attend an event that takes place at Milton City Hall next Tuesday starting at 5 p.m. It will be in the "open area between Council Chambers and Community Place" (at 2006 Heritage Walk in Milton). There will be a forum including local realtors, lenders and construction companies. Refreshments will be served. (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
- Are you interested in taking one-day painting workshops? You're in luck — there are upcoming classes being offered at the Alpharetta Arts Center. The types of classes include plein air, watercolor, pastel and color simplified workshop. You'll learn different techniques, color theory, design, sketching and more! Classes will take place starting in May. (City of Alpharetta Recreation, Parks, Cultural Services via Facebook)
- Milton Police are reminding the public to avoid being scammed by callers who claim they are in law enforcement. Recently, people have gotten these calls and were asked for money for various reasons, including helping to get a family member out of jail. Law enforcement officers never make this type of call; if you get one, tell the caller you are calling the police. Don't give out any bank or personal information. - The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety wants you to remain safe while doing your spring cleaning. Make sure not to mix various cleaning chemicals, as they can release toxic fumes. You should always read their labels to make sure they are used properly and store them where children and pets cannot get to them. (Alpharetta Department of Public Safety via Facebook)

- Jason Rochester of Roswell is trying to bring his undocumented wife back to the United States. Cecilia Gonzalez is living in Mexico after leaving our country voluntarily in 2018. Rochester is supporting a bill in Washington called the American Families United Act, which would allow U.S. citizens to request that non-citizen family members be allowed to live in the U.S., plus it would reduce restrictions for the child of a non-U.S. citizen to gain U.S. citizenship. "I promised my wife I'd do everything I can to bring her home. I have to know there’s hope or I wouldn’t be here. I would give up if I didn’t think there was a possibility.” (11Alive.com WXIA)
- Sandy Springs Police are reminding drivers not to make a U-Turn at Glenforest Road because they have received many complaints from nearby residents. "Officers wrote more than 300 tickets to drivers for illegal U-turns at the intersection in just three weeks, which the department says is a staggering amount. "It is unsafe to make a U-turn there, and police are present to make sure that violators receive tickets. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
