Here are the top stories today in Alpharetta-Milton:

  1. The deadline for filing your homestead exemptions, which can provide tax savings, is April 1. Alpharetta residents can receive a $45,000 basic exemption, senior basic and senior full value exemptions. You automatically receive the Alpharetta exemptions when you file one with Fulton County.   2. Have you heard about St. Paddy O'Pedal? It's a bike ride that raises money for children's cancer research, and it takes place on April 23 in Milton. There are three different routes that range from 17-62 miles. You'll also get a shirt, lunch and beer.   3. The City of Milton needs input from residents on their branding via a survey. The city is working on a strategy that includes identity, character, signage, logo, tagline and more. In addition, the city is looking to understand identities for different sections including "Crabapple, Birmingham Crossroads, and the Highway 9/Deerfield corridor."   • Milton has a new purple glass recycling bin, and it belongs to Ripple Glass. The bin is located at Bell Park, and citizens are encouraged to bring their glass there to be recycled. Soon, you'll be able to request a purple tote bag from Ripple Glass to match the bin. (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
  • All For One, which is based in Alpharetta, improves health and well-being of children who are at risk at 23 countries and the United States. They recently received a $600 donation from Alpharetta Rotary. This amount will help a child for one year at an orphanage in Uganda. (Rotary Club of Alpharetta via Facebook)

  • A Buckhead woman was robbed while sitting on her couch in her home. The victim lives on West Paces Ferry Road and three suspects stormed her home. They stole her cash, debit cards, car keys, car and computer at gunpoint. (WSB Atlanta)
