  1. Are you interested in learning how to prevent human trafficking? There will be a free summit on this topic on Jan. 21 at Innovation Academy in Alpharetta. Speakers will include "Georgia First Lady Marty Kemp, former Ambassador to the State Department for Trafficking in Persons Susan Coppedge, FBI Special Agent Renee Green, survivor Rachel Fischer and Alia El-Sawi from Homeland Security Investigations."   2. The Milton Library is open again! There was water damage from the recent cold snap. and it was closed for more than one week. When you enter, you might notice that the rugs are gone; they are being replaced. Some materials were temporarily removed, so they might not be available at this time. On Monday, Jan. 16, the westbound lane of Academy Street will be closed between Westside Parkway and Haynes Bridge Road from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The MLK Day Unity Walk will be taking place there at that time.   • Are you looking for a job this summer? There are open positions in Alpharetta in many different areas including agriculture, arts and culture, athletics, special needs, adventure and aquatics.   • Creek View Elementary School needs book donations for an upcoming Books and Bingo event. You can send them in with your children to either Creek View or Webb Bridge schools. Books for students in grades K-7 are needed. (Creek View Elementary School PTA via Facebook)
  • This Saturday, there will be a special presentation at the Alpharetta Arts Center. Color & Light artist Peter Ho will be there from 2-3 p.m. He will be sharing "his experiences and inspirations from his 2022 travels to Israel and the Middle East through a collection of paintings completed while there."
