Here are the top three stories today in Alpharetta-Milton:
- A note for local hunters: nearby Lake Allatoona will be increasing the price of hunting permits for the 2023-2024 season. Permits will be available for $25, up from the previous price of $20; there will also be 500 permits, an increase from last season's 400. Applicants can access the permit website at recreation.gov from May 1 onward; permits will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.(Cherokee Tribune Ledger News)
- The Alpharetta K9-5K is set to take place on Saturday, Jun. 10 at 7:30 am. Walkers and runners will travel along the North Point Parkway route, raising funds for the Alpharetta Public Safety (APS) Foundation. Those interested in entering a corporate team of runners or becoming a sponsor for the event can contact Joe Wargo of the APS Foundation at 678-557-1329 or via email at apsf5k@gmail.com. - Milton's famous Crabapple Fest is looking for vendors to showcase their unique goods and delicious food to the tens of thousands of people that attend the event every year. The application window will remain open through June; there are two distinct application links for food vendors and booth vendors. The organizers of Crabapple Fest will review the applications in early summer to select vendors for the event scheduled for Oct. 7.(City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
