- The City of Milton needs input from citizens for how to brand Milton. The types of of projects in the works include signage, logos, marketing materials and more. There will be meetings next week at different locations where you can provide input. If you're interested in learning more about these projects, please contact Anita Jupin, the City’s Economic Engagement Manager, at anita.jupin@miltonga.gov. (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
- A black bear recently had a feast in nearby Cumming. He spent time in the backyard of a home in the Providence Plantation subdivision and helped himself to food in the deer feeder. He was seen on camera for a few hours one evening and then showed up the following morning at 8 a.m. Citizens should remove all feeders, including bird feeders, from your backyard during bear season. In addition, thoroughly clean your grill and let your neighbors know if you see any bears in the area. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- Have you heard of the Milton crochet circle? It's a group that meets weekly at the Milton library and makes items for local charities and hospitals. The group started 15 years ago and has created thousands of chemo hats, baby incubator blankets, preemie hats and other precious things to help others. The meeting times are posted on the Milton library website. (WSB Atlanta)
- Do you know how to recycle glass in Milton? The bin where you can bring your glass items is located at the back of the parking lot at Bell Memorial Park. There are signs that show how to find the bin, which was recently made larger. In addition, the bin has a camera to alert the city when it needs to be emptied.
