- A Johns Creek woman and her boyfriend were ambushed and shot multiple times while in bed last month by an ex-boyfriend. Helen Quiggle of Plantation Bridge Drive and her boyfriend were asleep when Abdul Batin Azzaam Rashid Abdul got into her house and started firing. She tried to call 911 but Abdul took her phone away and kept shooting. Her son escaped through a window and got help. Abdul was found later the next day, and he had shot himself. (11 Alive)
- The family of a Kennesaw teenager, who died while trying to save his friend from drowning, is planning to lay him to rest. Koren Brooks, age 16, saw teens playing on ice at Ellison Lake when one of them fell in. Koren tried to help his friend, who was later saved by the police. The crews found Koren's body two hours later. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
