Here are the top stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:
- An Alpharetta resident is rebuilding her life after her Alpharetta apartment flooded last Christmas Eve. Leneille Moon, a single mom to three children, a florist and Girl Scout leader, lost 90 percent of their belongings due to a burst pipe. Her renter's insurance didn't cover her needs, and the family ended up in an extended stay hotel in Alpharetta. They received help from friends and the Kendra Scott store at the Alpharetta Avalon! While her Girl Scout troop sold cookies at the store, Kendra Scott donated 20 percent of sales during time that day and "20 percent of online sales that Saturday through Monday from shoppers using a discount code" to their family. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- Do you have prescription drugs that you need to safely dispose of? Stop by the Milton Police Department, located at 13690 Highway 9 Building B, and drop them into their drug box. The box is open during 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. They can accept pills only, not liquids, creams, inhalers, or needles. (Milton Police Department via Facebook)
- Foamworks Auto Spa is trying to open a new location at 11725 Cotton Creek in Alpharetta. This space was previously used by Autobell Car Wash. The Alpharetta City Council voted on their application and had a split vote of 3-3. They are postponing a decision until all seven members are present. Foamworks has agreed to keep the original brick interior and change the color of the exterior vacuum stations to black. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- Milton's Bell Memorial Park will be getting an upgrade; the score stands will be sanded and repainted. This park was built in 2015 and the score stands near each field has become chipped and deteriorated. This project will make the stands look as nice as the rest of the park. "Bell Memorial is an active-use park with four baseball fields, two multi-purpose artificial turf fields, pavilions, picnic areas, parking, concessions and a playground." (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)

- A restaurant in Suwanee failed its second inspection in 2023. ADDA Sports Pub & Eatery, located at 3455 Peachtree Parkway, was recently scored 39/U, and had received a 60/U score in February. Violations included food stored at unsafe temperatures, gas stored under the dishwasher and uncovered food containers. Much of the equipment was dirty. The restaurant will be re-inspected. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
