- A man was found stabbed to death in the front yard of a home in Suwanee on Monday, September 5. His family identified him as Matthew Jones, a loving son, brother and uncle. The police are asking the public to contact them with any information on this murder.(Gwinnett News)
- Citizens are invited to Milton High School,13025 Birmingham Hwy, as the school, and the city, mark the 21st anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. The ceremony will start at 7:30 a.m. on September 9 on the lawn outside the school, which will be full of small American flags in honor of those who lost lives. Milton High seniors will participate, as will Mayor Peyton Jamison, Fire Chief Gabe Benmoussa and Police Chief Rich Austin. (City of Milton)
- The 17th annual Taste of Buckhead, Atlanta’s premier food and beverage tasting event, is set to return on Oct. 6 at 6 pm. It will be located at The Stave Room at ASW Distillery, 199 Armour Dr NE, Atlanta . The event will also feature a philanthropic fundraiser, the “Spirit Wall”. Funds raised from raffling off donated bottles of wine or spirits from the Spirit Wall will benefit the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research. (Taste of Buckhead)

- Providence Park in Milton was atwitter this past weekend with both birds and bird watchers. The state branch of the Georgia Audubun held the “Field Trip” on Saturday morning at the 42-acre City acre, with one "master birder" leading the way.The attendees spotted lots of birds in and around the park’s trees,as well as on Providence Lake, including Green Heron, Great Egret, Great Blue Heron, Killdeer and Solitary Sandpiper.
