- There's just a few more days until the Alpharetta Mayor's Corporate Challenge. It takes place this Thursday, Sept. 29 in beautiful downtown Alpharetta. All proceeds benefit the Alpharetta Rotary Club. The race Festivities and Expo begin at 5 p.m., Kids Fun Run starts at 6 p.m., and the 5K starts at 6:30 p.m. (Mayors Challenge)
- An area couple missed out on a comedy show when they purchased fake tickets from a resale site. "Channel 2′s Veronica Griffin talked to the victim who said they were surprised when they presented the tickets at the Atlanta Comedy Theater in Norcross. Kaliah Henton-Jones and her husband purchased the tickets from a third-party ticket broker’s website, Vivid Seats. “First it was like how do you get fraudulent comedy theater tickets? It doesn’t seem like something someone would kind of bootleg or sell as fraudulent ticket,” she said. Atlanta Comedy Theater management told Channel 2 Action News they will work with customers who’ve been duped. (WSB-2)

- Looking for a new job? The City of Milton is looking for a Plans Examiner — a position that helps ensure new, repaired or otherwise altered buildings comply with City and State codes as well as standards. The next Plans Examiner will work out of Milton’s Community Development Department, "serving their and the City’s goals of enhancing residents’ quality of life, preserving and enhancing Milton’s character, and furthering a safe and healthy environment. A successful applicant should have three years of experience in plan review, architectural design, engineering, or construction." (City of Milton)
- It's important for your kids to know what to do in case of an emergency. "Prepare kids by building their own ready kit with essentials including extra clothes, nonperishable snacks, books and games or toys, extra batteries and anything else that they may need. They should know where their pack is and be able to easily access it if they need to grab it in an emergency." If a disaster strikes and everyone is at home, establish a designated meeting spot that is safe and easy to access for everyone. (Alpharetta Department of Public Safety via Facebook)
- The Alpharetta Lions Club is having a fundraiser in October with Casa Nuova. "All you have to do is eat, buy wine or order a gift certificate (they never expire, they’ll mail them to you). How easy is that!" (Alpharetta Lions Club via Facebook)
