Man Tried To Lure Teen Into Car In Alpharetta: Cops

Alpharetta police say the teenager was walking in the Tuxford neighborhood when a man in a white car pulled up and told her to get inside.

ALPHARETTA, GA — Alpharetta police are warning residents to be aware of their surroundings in light of an incident involving a man allegedly trying to lure a teenager into a vehicle Wednesday evening. The agency said the incident occurred in the Tuxford subdivision, which is located off Kimball Bridge Road.

According to police, the girl was walking alone in the neighborhood when an older model white four-door vehicle pulled up alongside her. Police note the driver told the teenager to "get in." The teen refused and continued to walk away. However, the driver persisted and "continued to tell her get in the car," the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety said on its Facebook page.

"After she, once again, made it clear that she would not get in the car, the driver accelerated quickly and left the area," it added.

The diver was described as a black male in his early to mid 20s with a beard, police note. There was also a male passenger inside the car whose description was similar to the driver. The teen went home and told her parents what happened. Officers responded to the area, but did not find the suspected vehicle.

"While no crime was committed in this case, it certainly was suspicious activity, and we’re so glad we were notified," Alpharetta police continued. "We’ll continue to keep our eyes open for the involved vehicle. We don’t feel that our community or specifically, the Tuxford area is in any immediate danger, and we've not received any additional reports regarding this incident. We’ll update our community if there is anything else to report in this case."
