  1. A Milton man credits a Roswell Park's AED (automated external defibrillator) and quick action from friends in saving his life. Nick Bogle was walking in Roswell Area Park for soccer practice when he suffered a cardiac arrest. Two individuals started CPR, which didn't appear to be effective. Jeff Freemyer and Alina Waring called 911 and used the AED, which quickly revived Bogle. He was then brought to the hospital and he's planning to play soccer again. “My recovery really is going to be complete because they got to me so quickly,” Bogle said. (Appen)
  2. The Alpharetta Police returned two dogs to their owners earlier this week. The dogs were spotted walking on North Main Street near Mayfield; the police picked them up and put their pictures on social media. Someone recognized them, and the dogs have been returned to their owners. They had escaped from their back yard and appeared to have enjoyed their adventure. (City of Alpharetta)
  3. The Alpharetta High School spring production 'Into The Woods: The Musical' starts soon! This play has been on Broadway, won three Tony Awards and was made into a motion picture. It shows "Little Red, a Witch, Cinderella, the Baker, and his wife, as they discover that 'Happily Ever After' has never been so complicated" as they invade each other's stories. The first show is on Friday, March 10; tickets are available at Alphatheatre.com or at the AHS auditorium on show dates. (AHS Musical)
  4. There are many deer in our area, and you might be thinking about leaving out "people" food for them to be kind or stop them from eating plants in your garden. Doing this is not a good idea, as they might become accustomed to relying on people for their meals. In addition, the food can attract other animals including rodents and possums, which could attract deer predators such as coyotes. If you want to encourage deer in your yard, it's better to provide natural foods such as planting native vegetation, berries, or oak trees. On the other hand, if you want to discourage deer, "experts at UGA Extension suggest putting in strong-scented plants like lantana, catmint, chives, mint, sage or thyme; bitter-tasting ones; or plants with prickly or rough leaves that aren't fun to eat."
