Here are the top stories today in Alpharetta-Milton:

  1. The mayors of Alpharetta and Milton, plus other area leaders, recently met with officials in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina region to learn how they attract businesses. The trip was organized by the Greater North Fulton Chamber, and they traveled to Cary, Raleigh and Research Triangle Park. The reason for the meeting is that our leaders want to market North Fulton as a region for businesses, as opposed to individual cities, to encourage economic development. 2. Do you have confidential documents that you need to safely dispose of? You can bring them to the Milton Police Department on Monday, May 15 from 2-4 p.m. for a shredding event. The address is 13690 Highway 9 in Milton. (City of Milton)
  3. Are you looking for a fun summer job? The Milton Parks and Recreation Department needs part-time athletic assistants to help out at different events and team practices. You could help out during transitions between games, monitoring the weather and making sure the parks are being used properly. These jobs are perfect for high school and college students. Apply today! (City of Milton)
  4. Jackson Healthcare, which is based in Alpharetta, is getting much larger. They are going to acquire LRS Healthcare, which is based in Omaha, Nebraska. Both companies are in the health care staffing space and provide medical professionals to organizations across the country. "Jackson Healthcare is Great Place to Work certified and consistently named an employer of choice both nationally and regionally." (Metro Atlanta CEO)
