- The City of Milton held its Memorial Day event on Monday at The Green at Crabapple Market. Hundreds showed up for the ceremony, which took place under a tent. Sgt. Maj. Paul Hershey, a retired U.S. Marine, spoke about the significance of Memorial Day and explained what happens when a member of the U.S. military is killed. Mayor Peyton Jamison, veterans and other community members also spoke. Patriotic music was played, including “God Bless America,” “Amazing Grace,” and “Taps.” (City of Milton)
- Milton Police are reminding citizens how to keep your home and property secure. If you're headed out of town, request a vacation patrol using this link; it's free: https://www.miltonga.gov/.../police/vacation-patrol-request In addition, remember to arm your alarm when going out, keep your outdoor lights on and have your packages and mail picked up. Make sure your trash barrels aren't left outside. If you see something suspicious in your neighborhood, don't hesitate to call the police. Milton residents and businesses can join Community Connect, www.miltonga.gov/CommunityConnect which tells firefighters how to enter your home if there's an emergency. - Plan for delays when driving on State Route 9 between Hembree Road and Old Milton Parkway in Alpharetta during the next several days. This section will be repaved during the hours between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. This work is part of the State Route 9 Improvement Project. (City of Alpharetta)

- The pool at the Milton City Park and Preserve will be closed for the Milton Mustangs Swim Team's home swim meets. Here are the dates and times: Thursday, June 1 from 3-9 p.m.; Thursday, June 15 from 3-9 p.m.; and Tuesday, June 27 from 3-9 p.m. In addition, it will be closed on Wednesday, June 28 from 4-8 p.m. for the Mustangs team party. - Roswell's Eagles Nest Church will be moving to "The Beacon at East Roswell, a commercial multi-use property that will replace the vacant Kohl’s lot on Holcomb Bridge Road." This new location will have an auditorium for 800 and will take up 15.5 acres. The church is temporarily located at Centennial High School and many members must watch services online. (Appen)
- Now that summer's here, the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety wants to remind the public how to keep children safe while swimming. Watch them at all times and have them wear a life jacket when necessary. Be familiar with the posted swimming rules and make sure children follow them.
