Milton Arborist Passes: Fundraiser For His Dream Project
With the passing of Mark Law, the Milton Arts Council hopes to raise money for a project he dreamed of for Milton.
MILTON, GA — The passing of a beloved Milton arborist sparked the community to come together, raising funds for a project he had long wanted to fulfill. Mark Law, who passed away after a long battle with cancer on Feb. 27, dreamed of a memorial sculpture for Milton's rich equestrian history.
Law was known for his devotion to making Milton greener and more beautiful. "[H]e shared his love of trees, and it was undeniably infectious. His passion and love for his work was never ending," says a GoFundMe page set up by the Milton Arts Council.
The GoFundMe has a goal of $6,900 to pay for a custom horse sculpture crafted by Icon Poly in Nebraska. The bronzed horse will stand six feet tall and eight-and-a-half feet wide. Production and delivery costs make up for $4,900 of the goal, with $2,000 for installation.

"Mark’s idea was going to be implemented—the roundabout project rendering presented that day featured his horse concept. Please help the Milton, Georgia, community make Mark’s dream come true by providing financial support," the Arts Council said.
At publishing time, less than 20 hours after the GoFundMe began, they've raised $2,840 of their goal.
