  1. There's no school on Monday due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. If your children are looking for something to do that day, they might enjoy an art "Mini-Camp" in Milton. It will be held inside the Community Center at the Milton City Park and Preserve. The program is for children ages 5 to 12, and the class will be "A Day with Monet" starting at 9 a.m. (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
  2. The City of Alpharetta and Northside Hospital have renewed an agreement that's focused on the "health and wellness aspects of the city’s parks and programs." The hospital has agreed to pay $25,000 per year for three years to extend health and wellness programs plus park facilities. The city will use the funds to continue offering free programs like yoga, aerobics and other popular programs. (AJC)
  3. Downtown Alpharetta has streets that have been designated for tree conservation by the Alpharetta City Council. They include Academy Street, Canton Street, Church Street, Cumming Street, Marietta Street, Mayfield Road, Milton Avenue and Roswell Street. That means specific trees will be preserved based on their size, location and shape, in addition to other factors. This designation doesn't apply to North Main Street, as construction there is being done by the Georgia Department of Transportation. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  4. A former Johns Creek River Trail Middle school has been charged with several crimes in Cobb County. Holly McQueen's charges include "child molestation and enticing a child." She resigned from River Trail as the investigation started. She is being held in Cobb County. (11Alive.com WXIA)
