  1. If you're a college student, or will be one soon, the City of Milton is looking for individuals to be part of their Comprehensive Summer Internship Program. In this position, you'll work on projects with different departments and will learn how the City operates. It is a paid position and involves working on budgets, special projects, proposals and much more.   2. Capoeira classes will be offered to children and adults at the Alpharetta Arts Center starting in April. These classes including singing, dancing and instruments,martial arts and can help students improve confidence, discipline and more. There will be a free session offered on April 1, and you can register at https://bit.ly/CapoeiraFreeSession. After the free session, the classes will run for eight weeks. (Alpharetta Arts Center)
  3. Until recently, the City of Alpharetta has hired firefighters, AEMT/paramedics who are already certified. Due to a smaller applicant pool, the City will provide this training to help employees become certified, similar to other Atlanta suburbs. They are partnering with Faithful Guardian Training Center, and the cost will be $1,900 per student. The current training budget is $18,000. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  4. Alpharetta has announced an initial concert schedule for Home by Dark for this spring and summer. Admission ranges from free to $90. Their Home by Dark concert series has events at Brooke Street Park and Union Hill Park and admission ranges from free to $90. You can find more information on these concerts at homebydark.com.   • The City of Milton recently asked business and civic leaders to nominate an employee for "exhibiting the City’s core values of service, teamwork, leadership, ownership and a commitment to Milton’s rural heritage." Anita Jupin, who is the Economic Engagement Manager, won this award. She received many compliments about her work ethic and professionalism.   • The Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce has an annual Women of Excellence Award, and the 2023 Rising Star award has been presented to Toseima Jiles. She is the owner and founder of CAI Business Group; this company hosts workshops to help improve business profits through performing arts. She also is a Chamber Diplomat, television network owner, author, and has other roles within the community. In addition, she volunteers through many organizations.   • Do you have a child who will be starting Kindergarten at Fulton County Schools this fall? There will be a virtual information session on Microsoft Teams on March 21 from 3-5:00 p.m. Topics covered will include curriculum, transportion, how to enroll and additional topics.
