- The City of Milton celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a variety of events. They were open to city employees and included Mexican, Argentinian and Cuban cuisine, all from local restaurants. "Hispanic Heritage Month runs nationally between Sept. 15 and Oct. 15 to celebrate the histories, cultures and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spanish-speaking countries." (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
- Later this week, temperatures in our area could go below freezing at night. It's important to make sure you're prepared to avoid any potential problems outside. For example, turn off and drain your outside sprinklers to avoid frozen pipes and icy spots. (City of Alpharetta)
- A Cumming woman started a non-profit after losing family members to accidental drug overdoses. Jennifer Hodge, the head of Realty4Recovery , holds a teacup memorial annually that shows the faces of 5,000+ people who lost their lives to drugs.
