- The City of Milton is determining whether it can conduct its own municipal elections instead of paying Fulton County for this service. The main reason is cost, as "Milton paid the county $84,671 to run its 2021 municipal general election and another $70,368 to conduct a runoff election in late November, according to the contract agreement." Fulton County is also recommending that "cities conduct their own election in 2023 due to a hike in costs." A final decision could be made in the next couple of months. (Appen)
- Tim Enloe of Milton has published an online book, “A Story That Must Be Told" about his family's property, Stable Days Farm on Bethany Road. The book is a series of more than 20 posts, or chapters, that chronicle his family's history before and after moving to Milton in 1978. He describes confrontations with the City of Milton over various actions, including the relocation of Milton High School and a new subdivision behind the property that could have a retention pond less than 200 feet from his farm, possibly infecting Enloe’s horses. - A popular feed store has moved from Milton to Alpharetta. North Fulton Feed and Seed, which carries pet food, equine feed and hay, chicken and livestock feed as well as farm, seeds and garden supplies, has moved about four miles down Georgia 9 to 5490 Atlanta Highway. The new location is more accessible and is larger than the one in Milton. Alan Jessie, president of North Fulton Feed and Seed, said “We’ve always done great business with the Alpharetta, Milton and Roswell communities,” he said. “We’re a family-owned store and continue to build on the business — absolutely enjoy every minute of it. There’s nothing else like it. It is a true ag store.” (Appen)
- Here are some tips to keep your home safe during this holiday season (and the rest of the year). If you're traveling, Alpharetta residents can take advantage of a free Vacation Watch Program where police will check your house while you're gone. Also, don't post pictures showing you're out of town until you're back. Make sure not to overload your electrical outlets with lights and break down any boxes that contained expensive items before leaving them in the trash. (City of Alpharetta)

- Mark your calendars for an upcoming holiday event at the Ed Isakson/Alpharetta Family YMCA. The Holiday Extravaganza will celebrate Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas on Dec. 10 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.! You will enjoy arts & crafts, pictures with Santa, tree decorating, games, a picture booth, cookie decorating, hot cocoa bar, music, and so much more! While it is free and open to the community, registration is required. Please only register one adult to represent the whole family. (YMCA)
- Over the next few weeks, there will be many celebrations involving food; make sure you know what to do if someone starts to choke. If the choking victim is conscious, perform the Heimlich maneuver by first standing behind the victim and placing your arms around their waist. After making a fist, place the thumb side of the fist against the victim's mid-abdomen and grab the fist with the other hand. Give a quick upward thrust into the abdomen, repeating until the object becomes unstuck and is out of the patient's airway. And if the victim is or becomes unresponsive, safely move them to the floor and begin CPR while someone calls 911.(Alpharetta Department of Public Safety via Facebook)
- While you're shopping for gifts, there could be thieves checking out parked cars. Keep your vehicle safe by following these tips: don't leave anything inside including shopping bags, laptops, purses, etc. Park in well-lit areas near a security camera if possible and look out for people just hanging out in a car.
