Milton PD Participates In National Police Week
National Police Week honors those who lost their lives in the line of duty, but it also provides awareness and education about policing.
From The City of Milton PD: National Police Week, an annual celebration dating back to a 1962 proclamation issued by Present John F. Kennedy, draws tens of thousands of law enforcement officers from around the world to Washington, DC for planned events, but it is also a time-honored tradition that is celebrated on the local level all across the country. Milton will celebrate National Police Week from May 14-20.
National Police Week honors those who have lost their lives in the line of duty, but it also provides awareness and education about policing. In honor of National Police Week, the City of Milton Police Department has a number of activities planned during National Police Week.
"We've planned a full week of activities designed to not only honor those officers we've lost in the line of duty in our profession, but those who continue to serve and protect daily," said Milton Police Chief Rich Austin. "This is a great time for our officers to share, educate and connect with the community.
