  1. Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and there are many celebrations in our area. For example, the Atlanta History Center has a celebration including "civil rights-themed trivia, crafts, choir performances, Freedom Rider simulations on an authentic 1952 Greyhound bus, panel discussions, and more, including free access to our exhibitions."The Center is located at 130 West Paces Ferry Road NW in Atlanta.   2. Are you looking for something to do with your children today? Halcyon in Alpharetta has a "Snow Much Fun" event from noon to 3:00 p.m.. The winter fun celebration will feature snow in the Village Green, face painting and crafts at the Tutu school, and special offers from merchants including Hobnob. This event is free, and participants are asked to bring a new pair of winter pajamas to donate to Family Promise. (Halcyon)
  3. The Roswell Beer Festival will be in March, and sponsers and volunteers are needed. It will take place on March 4 and will feature 350+ unique beers, unlimited tastings, music and food from local restaurants. Proceeds will be donated to the STAR House mission. (Roswell Beer Festival)

Speakers will include First Lady Marty Kemp, Former Ambassador to the State Dept., Susan Coppedge, Special Agent Renee Green and Survivor Rachel D. Fischer. You will learn how to prevent children from being recruited, which can happen in our area. Attendence is free but registration is required. (Alpharetta Rotary)
  • Believe it or not, it's time to sign up for summer camp atEd Isakson/Alpharetta Family YMCA. "Jessica’s favorite part of summer camp is going on hikes on the Greenway!
