- The City of Milton has new software that allows citizens to easily share information on issues in the roads and parks. It's called SeeClickFix, and can be used to report dead animals, damaged road signs, potholes, tree limbs, etc. The city will receive these notices, process them and track the status of requests with the software. The portal can be accessed at https://seeclickfix.com/miltonga. It can also be used to report issues in Alpharetta. You can download it to your computer or phone. - Mark your calendars for the Taste of Alpharetta, which will take place on May 11. It will be a premiere event that includes food, music, entertainment and more! If your restaurant would like to participate, you can sign up at https://tasteofalpharettaga.co.... (City of Alpharetta)
- Two former Milton High School basketball stars were offered a plea deal that would allow them to avoid a trial for murder. Cameron Walker and Jonathan Murray have been charged with the robbery and murder of Connor Mediate in 2021 during a drug deal. Both Walker and Murray are deciding whether to accept the plea. - An inmate at the Fulton County Jail died after being eaten by insects and bed bugs. LaShawn Thompson was arrested for misdemeanor simple battery and placed in the psychiatric ward. After three months, he was found dead in his cell, and his family alleges that the jail staff noticed his deterioration and didn't help him. Thompson's family is demanding changes in the jail and an investigation is in the works. "It’s no secret that the dilapidated and rapidly eroding conditions of the current facility make it incredibly difficult to meet the goal of providing a clean, well-maintained and healthy environment for all inmates and staff." - Did you know that the Alpharetta dispatch center also services the Milton Police and Fire departments? The Milton Police kindly thanked the dispatch center employees by recently bringing them snacks and gifts. The gifts were made by the MPD Support Services Division. - Kudos to the Kings Ridge Christian School's varsity basketball team. They were "honored at the State Capitol by Georgia State Sen. Brandon Beach and Lt. Gov. Burt Jones for being A Division 1 State Champions!" Coach Bob Martin and four senior players were given a resolution outlining their accomplishments at the ceremony. - Antonio Criner, 26, from nearby Cumming has been arrested due to alleged stalking following a domestic dispute. He had been arrested earlier related to charges from aggravated assault with a gun, misdemeanor simple assault and misdemeanor cruelty to children. The later arrest is because he used an app to track and stalk the mother of his children. He followed her to a house and then tried to stop her from leaving. (Appen Media)
