Here are the top stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:

  1. A new boutique for women has opened in downtown Milton, just in time for the holidays! Ameline Shoppe, in the Crabapple Market, "specializes in timeless styles and bold statement pieces for women of all ages." You'll be able to find many types of attire including cocktail as well as athleisure. They offer 36 different brands. (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
  2. Mark your calendars for Alpharetta's “Snow Day at Alpharetta City Center” in downtown Alpharetta on Saturday, Dec. 10 from noon to 3 p.m. This free event will feature snow machines on the town green, music, holiday llamas, food and treats. “Local band Lilac Wine will add to the festivities with live music throughout the event. The trio is known for performing covers of popular songs from the past 50 years with the blends of traditional folk, bluegrass and jazz music.” (AJC)
  3. In case you haven't heard, Georgia is holding a runoff election for the U.S. Senate. Early voting starts in less than one week on Saturday, Nov. 26 and continues through Friday, Dec. 2. Registered voters from Alpharetta and Milton can cast their early ballots at any of the Fulton County voting locations during this period. People also have the option of voting by absentee ballot. (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
  4. Many of us will be cooking this week, and it's important to stay safe by avoiding any type of house fire. Here are some reminders: if something on your stove catches fire, cover the pan with a lid and shut off the heat. The best way to stop a fire in your oven is to leave the door closed and shut it off. Don't use water to put out a fire when you're cooking with oil, as it could spread. If all else fails, don't hesitate to call 911. (Alpharetta Department of Public Safety via Facebook)
