In this real estate market, two brains are better than one

In this rapidly changing real estate market, wouldn’t it be helpful to have a team of Realtors working on your behalf?

Say: one with deep experience in mortgage lending to help you navigate increasingly tricky financing options. And another who was a wiz at sales and data, who could help you assess a home’s true value and potential.

Now imagine if those Realtors had lived in the area for over 20 years, were in the top 5 percent of producers in the Atlanta area and were so obsessed with customer service that they had over 80 5-star reviews from clients.

Too good to be true you might be thinking. Well, meet LeeAnn and Phillip Maxwell.

Here are the top stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:

  1. The City of Milton has installed nine additional "Flock" cameras around the city to help solve crimes and locate missing people. These cameras take photos but don't have video capability. They can help law enforcement by providing photos of items such as license plates. "So, if there is an Amber Alert for a missing child, an armed assailant on the loose, or something along those lines, the Flock cameras can help investigators significantly — potentially saving lives." However, since they don't have video capability, they won't be used for moving traffic violations. (Milton Police Department via Facebook)
  2. Now that the holidays are upon us, there are several celebrations coming up in Alpharetta. For example, there will be a Christmas Tree Lighting on the Town Green on Friday, Dec. 2 starting at 6:30 p.m. The tree was donated to the city by Evans General Contractors in 2021. “The Christmas Tree Lighting has brought the Alpharetta community together for years,” said Alpharetta Mayor Jim Gilvin. “It is a perfect time to enjoy the simple traditions of the holiday season. Community celebrations like this showcase the vibrancy of our city, strengthen connections between our residents, and create an opportunity for families to create memories together.” (City of Alpharetta GA via Facebook)
  3. The Milton City Council recently voted on rules and requirements for driving golf carts in town. Here are some of the approved items: anyone driving a PTV (or golf cart) must share proof of insurance if requested by law enforcement, just as they would when driving a car or truck. In addition, all PTV's driven on public (non-gated) roads need to be registered. The new registration process, which is planned for early 2023, will be communicated via social media and public education. (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
  4. A Roswell man has been sent to federal prison for 12 years in connection with a drug overdose crime. "33-year-old Hubert Nathans sold fake roxicodone pills containing fentanyl to multiple people in Roswell between 2017 and 2018. One buyer died from an overdose and another one was seriously injured. Nathans’ drug supplier, Edward Culton, was also sentenced to 18 years in federal prison on fentanyl possession and aiding fentanyl distribution charges earlier this year." The Roswell Police Department confirmed that Nathans was selling the fake pills through an investigation. When the two were arrested, they were in possession of nearly 1,000 pills. • Kudos to Alpharetta's Communications Officer Karen Walker, who helped to save a life. She provided instructions and support to a citizen who successfully performed CPR. The patient was revived (breathing with a pulse) when Fire and EMS arrived to the scene! She was given a Life Saving award. (City of Alpharetta)
  • "The City of Milton will start a process to create Urban Growth Boundaries — a tool to contain more dense urbanization and, in so doing, help preserve Milton’s rural heritage — at a special public meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 30." The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the Milton City Hall's chambers and citizens are invited to attend. Milton’s 2040 Comprehensive Plan outlines a short-term work program for the City to “perform due diligence and planning on Urban Growth Boundaries” as another means, beyond limits of sewer lines, to maintain a “rural” look and feel in Milton while helping designated commercial “urban” areas thrive.
