Here are the top stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:

  1. Parkland Communities recently opened its new headquarters in downtown Alpharetta at 363 South Main St. The local real estate investor and developer used to be located at 299 South Main St. The new location is in the former Rudasill Grocery store, which was a general store in the 1950s. Back then, Alpharetta's Main Street was a "just a rural two-lane road." (Atlanta Agent magazine)
  2. Sandy Springs has seen a huge uptick in mail theft; the number of cases has recently quadrupled. Mail is being stolen out of peoples' mailboxes, and it possible that the increase is tied to tax season, as many people still receive their tax refund checks by mail. "Investigators say they have arrested one person believed to be connected to many of the recent thefts, but say the investigation is ongoing." (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  3. Are you a fan of Cristy's Kitchen, a bakery- cafe in Roswell? You're in luck, as the owner has written a cookbook that contains gluten and dairy free organic recipes. It will be released on April 18, and there will be a book signing at the cafe-bakery at 1066 Atlanta St. on April 22, starting at noon. Her inspiration for the recipes is that one of her daughters has an autoimmune disease, and another child has celiac disease. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
