- The Alpharetta Public Safety Department has a new employee - Scout, who is a one year old beagle mix. His job as a therapy dog is to help calm down crime victims and witnesses during police interviews. Scout took a class with a detective and his presence can help peoples' memory when being asked questions after a traumatic event. He also helps boost morale for firefighters and police officers.(WSB Atlanta)
- The Milton Citizen Government Academy (CGA) had its final session and students learned about the City's communications and IT. They learned how the public is notified about what's happening in city, and how it's communicated. The Milton's Geographic Information System (GIS) team explained how they analyze date on Milton's assets including properties. Lastly, they had a segment on the technology used by city employees to efficiently do their jobs. - Are you interested in purchasing some native plants for the spring? Native plants are good for the environment and are easy to care for. Stop by the Chattahoochee Nature Center later this week. Their sale will take place at the CNC Unity Garden, located on 9135 Willeo Road in Roswell, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be another sale the following week. CNC members can shop early and receive a discount on their purchases during 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 30. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
