During the night of the shooting, police said the suspect ran from the scene. A handgun was recovered in the area, police said.

"We are able to confirm that he and the two victims have known relationships, which is why we consider this to be an isolated incident that does not represent a threat to other Alpharetta citizens or visitors," authorities said in a statement. "We would like to thank the residents of Alpharetta for your patience and confidence as our police officers and detectives continue their investigation and ultimately arrest the suspect."
