Officer, Suspect Injured In Milton Police Shooting

A suspect was taken into custody Friday after a police shooting injured a Milton police officer and a second suspect in a parking lot.

MILTON, GA — A Milton police officer and a suspect were hospitalized after a police shooting Friday in a store parking lot in the 5200 block of Windward Parkway, Milton Police said.

Police said the shooting happened shortly after noon in the parking lot. The officer who was injured was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, police said.

The unnamed hospitalized suspect suffered serious injuries and was taken to Wellstar North Fulton Hospital. A second suspect was taken into custody, police said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation are at the scene investigating the shooting, police said.

Police did not identify what led to the shooting or release further details.
