- A recent study has named Alpharetta as the best place to live in Georgia! Reasons for this award include safety, restaurants, shopping and entertainment options. The study lists the best neighborhoods within Alpharetta are the Avalon, City Center and Windward. Other cities in the top five in Georgia are Johns Creek, Decatur, Canton and Atlanta. - Be on the lookout for rare blooming flowers in the area. For example, this link has pictures of flowers called pink lady’s slipper, or Moccasin flower, and they were recently found in Milton. These beautiful flowers are almost extinct due to too much harvesting. They need a specific type of soil, fungus, and bees generally don't pollinate them. If you see a unique flower in Milton, take a picture and post it on the facebook page. (City of Milton)
