Here are the top stories today in Alpharetta-Milton:

  1. The City of Milton wants to make it easier for residents to have access to the Big Creek Greenway. They are planning new pedestrian paths that connect to the Greenway along a couple of parks. These paths will allow residents to walk to the Greenway instead of having to drive there. Milton needs to obtain public input from both Alpharetta and Milton residents on these plans because federal grants will be paying for them. (City of Milton)
  2. The City of Milton needs your help in identifying two individuals who allegedly broke into cars at the Centennial Village Subdivision. On Jan. 28, one suspect entered an unlocked car in a driveway. A neighbor confronted the suspects, who ran away. "If anyone can identify either of the pictured suspects, please contact Detective Bouziane at 678-242-2615 or Khalil.bouziane@miltonga.gov." (Milton Police Department via Facebook)
  3. The GBI recently arrested 11 individuals and charged them with child sexual exploitation. The busts took months to plan and covered six counties in our area, including Fulton County. The cases targeted networks used to collect and distribute child sexual abuse materials and people allegedly conducting sexually explicit or obscene internet contact with a child. Here is a list of the suspects who were arrested: Sudesh Rajkooma (26) of Newton County, Jeoffrey Jenkins (18), Brent Felix (50) and La’Quantay Stevens (23) of Dekalb County, Miguel Castillo (45) and Louis Belgio (56) of Clayton County , Joshua Casey, (37) of Clayton County, Timothy Smallwood (41) of Spalding County, Omalin Jahir Perez-Carrasco (24) of Newton County , James Burns, Jr. (62) of Gwinnett County and Jesus Mireles-Aguila (25) of Fulton County. (WSB Atlanta)
  4. There will be a new Isreali restaurant at the Alpharetta Avalon later this year. Rina will be in the location previously home to Goldberg's Bagels. This restaurant has been serving up Israeli specialties including mezze, falafel salad, and chicken shawarma pita since 2020.
