Here are the top stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:

  1. A plane crashed in Alpharetta near Kimball Bridge Road and North Point Parkway, not far from the Big Creek Greenway. There were two people onboard and one confirmed fatality. It was preparing to land at the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the accident and updates are being posted on Alpharetta social media. (Alpharetta Department of Public Safety via Facebook)
  2. An 18 year old has been arrested in connection with the murder of a Norcross High School student. Brendan Young turned himself in to the police in Jacksonville, Florida. He allegedly shot and killed DeAndre Henderson close to the high school. (11 Alive)
  3. It's time to recycle your Halloween candy wrappers. Take advantage of a "Trick or Trash" program run by Rubicon Global, a recycling company, in partnership with the National Wildlife Federation. You can drop off the candy wrappers in the recycling bin at the lobby of City Hall through Nov. 7 and Rubicon will arrange to have them recycled. That way they won't end up in landfills.
