Police ID Man Killed In Alpharetta Crash
The single-vehicle crash was reported early Oct. 24 on Windward Parkway near Alderman Drive.

ALPHARETTA, GA — The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety has released the identity of the man who died last week in a single-vehicle accident on Windward Parkway.
Ian McSwain, 26, was driving eastbound on Windward Parkway near Alderman Drive early Wednesday, Oct. 24 when his vehicle veered off the road into an embankment, flipped and came to rest in the parking lot of a business, said Alpharetta Department of Public Safety spokesperson Howard Miller.
Miller said he believes the crash was called in to 911 dispatchers by an employee or a security guard patrolling the area. No other vehicles or people are suspected to be involved, Miller added.

According to his obituary, McSwain was born on Sept. 15, 1992, in Maryland and graduated from Campbell High School in 2010.
"Of course, that was just the tip of the iceberg for his many talents and interests," the obituary reads. "A walking almanac, he pulled facts out of his brain as smoothly as he played the many instruments at his disposal. The guitar being his favorite, his cool melodies matched his eccentric lovable personality."

Valeria Elyash, the campaign's creator and McSwain's girlfriend, noted McSwain was a brother, son, friend, soulmate, student, mentor and hard worker.
"He died very young, therefore he didn’t have any insurance, Elyash wrote. "You guys have been amazing reaching out & offering help. This is the way you could help. Funeral and service costs are through the roof. We have to remember him the way he wanted to be remembered."
As of Tuesday, Oct. 30, more than $9,700 has been donated towards the $10,000 goal.
"Thank you for all the donations, I am happy to say that we reached our goal," Elyash added in an updated posted Sunday. "We appreciate all the love and support you showed to Ian’s family and friends."
