- Due to utility work, there will be lane closures and detours on State Route 9 today in Alpharetta. They will be between Old Milton Parkway and Brady Place; in addition, part of Maxwell Road will also be closed. Motorists are encouraged to avoid driving in this area today; heavy delays are expected between Old Milton Parkway and Wills Road. (City of Alpharetta)
- Starting this spring, Milton residents can play recreational softball in Alpharetta and pay the same rates as Alpharetta residents. The games will take place at North Park, which is on the Alpharetta and Milton border. This arrangement also covers both city's special needs, football and lacrosse programs. This partnership was made between the two cities earlier this fall. Registration for softball ends on Jan. 6. (City of Milton)
- Soon, Alpharetta residents may be able to participate in programs offered in Johns Creek for the same price as Johns Creek residents. The Alpharetta city council will be voting on a Parks without Borders agreement that will affect each city's softball, lacrosse, soccer and baseball programs. "Johns Creek has already approved the tentative agreement. Between the two cities, Johns Creek has become the main provider for youth lacrosse and Alpharetta has become the main provider for youth softball. " If approved, this partnership will help residents of both cities save money on these programs. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)

- Join us for a celebration of music and art with “The KT Collaborative” at the Alpharetta Arts Center Black Box Theater! It takes place on Sat., Dec. 10 from 6-9:00 p.m. at the Arts Center, located at 238 Canton St. It is free to the public and light refreshments will be provided. (City of Alpharetta)
- The Roswell E-911 center is collecting for their annual Toys for Tots drive. You can bring new, unwrapped toys to either lobby of the Roswell Police Department at 39 Hill Street.
"According to their website, Toys for Tots has distributed 627 million toys since 1947, impacting 281 million children." ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution) - Mark your calendars for next Saturday, Dec. 10 for Pancakes with Santa at Milton Fire Station 44, which is at 13690 Highway 9. The Milton firefighters will be hosting the event and serving food. It takes place from 8-10 a.m. and is free. Reservations aren't required. You will enjoy being with your neighbors and meeting Santa! (City of Milton)
- North Fulton Community Charities needs donations for their food pantry. Items that are most needed include canned vegetables, (especially corn), tomato products, broth, juice boxes, ramen, jelly and canned beans. Donations can be dropped off at 11270 Elkins Road in Roswell, Mon-Sat from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (NFCC)
