  1. Many of us are having packages delivered during this holiday season. It's important to make sure they aren't stolen from outside of your home. There are some easy measures that you can take to help prevent that from happening. Take advantage of package tracking, ask for signature upon delivery, install a video doorbell and place a sign outside saying that you have a home security system. 2. Are you interested in learning more about the Milton City government? You can do so by enrolling in the Milton Citizens Government Academy. It starts on Jan. 24 and has eight sessions on Tuesday evenings at different city-owned facilities. You'll learn about first responders, permitting, zoning planning and much more. You can apply by going to www.miltonga.gov/CGA. Applications are due by Jan. 9, 2023. If you have questions or want more information, email Parks and Recreation Director Tom McKlveen at tom.mcklveen@miltonga.gov. (City of Milton)
  3. Early voting for the Georgia Senate runoff election has ended. If you haven't already voted, you can do so on Election Day, which is Tuesday, Dec. 6. You must vote at your assigned precinct location that day. Here's a link to find yours: https://mvp.sos.ga.gov/s/. The Milton Library and other libraries that serve as Election Day polling sites will be closed for everything but voting on Dec. 6 as well. (Election)
  4. Due to the upcoming runoff election, many prominent politicians are visiting Georgia to promote their candidate. U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham was in Cherokee County to promote Herschel Walker, while Former President Barack Obama campaigned in Atlanta to support Sen. Raphael Warnock. “Since the last time I was here Mr. Walker has been talking about issues that are of great importance to the people of Georgia, like whether it’s better to be a vampire or a werewolf,” joked Obama about Walker’s recent comments. “This was a debate that I must confess that I once had myself — when I was seven.” At a rally with Walker in Woodstock, Graham said he also had another question for Georgians. “Why in the hell would you send Warnock to Washington to undercut everything Kemp is doing in Atlanta? That’s what’s at stake here,” said Graham. (WSB-TV)
