- Casa Nuova Italian Restaurant in Alpharetta held a fundraiser on April 30 to raise money for pancreatic cancer research through nonprofit Purple Pansies. The event included food, games and live music. Maria Fundora, who is co-owner of this restaurant, started this nonprofit after her mother passed away from the disease. This organization has raised over $5 million to help those impacted by pancreatic cancer. Those interested in volunteering or donating can visit purplepansies.org. (Alpharetta-Roswell Herald)
- Are you planning to go out of town during the summer? Alpharetta residents can take advantage of the Vacation Watch Program, which is free. When you register, Alpharetta police will stop by your home to check doors, windows and make sure nothing is amiss. They will notify you if there are any issues. - Alpharetta firefighters recently took an advanced vehicle extrication class. Afterwards, they shared what they learned to the rest of the department. - KJ Luxury Homes has gotten approval to build five new homes at 1580 Mayfield Road in Alpharetta. The conditions for approval outlined by City Council include side entry garages, landscaped/fenced detention pond and landscape buffers. The new homes will be built on a total of 5.66 acres. - Summer is here! The pool at Wills Park will be open this Saturday for the season, which will end on Sept. 3. - Milton Police officers enjoyed having coffee with citizens last week at Bloom Roadside. The officers were treated to coffee and donuts and had a great few hours there. The event was part of National Police Week. (Milton Police Department via Facebook)

- The last Music with Movement class was held at Wills Park. These classes will resume in September and are held on the first and third Wednesday of the month. - Would your child be interested in learning about the importance of agriculture in our lives? They can attend a mobile classroom at the Milton Library on Wednesday, May 31.
