- The City of Milton is planning to repave roads at a few locations over the next few weeks, and drivers will experience delays. While the projects take place, roads will will have one lane open with flaggers directing traffic. Here is a list of the streets: Cox Road (between Arnold Mill and King Roads), Mid Broadwell Road (between Mayfield Road and just before Charlotte Drive) and Webb Road. - It's time to spring forward - Daylight Savings Time starts today, and you need to turn your clocks ahead one hour. It will be light longer in the evening, and sunrise will be later in the morning. - Are you interested in learning more about the history of Milton? You're in luck - the City and Milton Historical Society - Georgia have a new group that provides information on the city and "personalities from Milton’s past. " For example, there are 27 cemeteries in Milton, some going back to the early 1800's. One of the oldest ones is is near the Boiling Springs Primitive Baptist Church, and there will be a cemetery tour this Tuesday, March 14 at 6 p.m.To learn more about and to join this group, go to https://www.miltonhistoricalsociety-georgia.org/. - Stacker recently compiled a list of the best public elementary schools in Georgia and Midway, located at 4805 Atlanta Highway in Alpharetta, was on the list! It was ranked number 16, with a 16:1 student to teacher ratio and niche grade of A. The top rated school in our state is Dove Creek Elementary School in Oconee County, which has a 13:1 student to teacher ratio and grade of A+. (Northwest Georgia News)
