Individuals and families are invited to hear the tales of how Alpharetta became the city it is today during the tours. The fun begins before each tour with live music. During tours, actors will lead guests around the historic streets of downtown Alpharetta explaining the city’s rich and colorful past with lively performances. Each tour will be accompanied by sound trucks, allowing everyone to hear what is being said. As guests are led to each location, eccentric characters, such as Addie DeVore and Roy “Smokie” Manning, who made Alpharetta the city it is today, will spring out from behind buildings and gravestones of the Resthaven Cemetery. Characters will tell their astounding stories dating back to the pioneer days and the 20th century.

“The Restless in Resthaven tour is a special opportunity for guests to watch the history of Alpharetta come to life,” said Janet Rogers, CEO of Alpharetta Convention and Visitor Bureau. “This unique experience is a fun and interesting way to truly appreciate our city and the history that made it the home that it is today.”
