- The votes are in and there is a winner for the Alpharetta Scarecrow Harvest! It's "Mr. Garbuz & His Family” which was created by the Ukrainian School of Atlanta. . "Fun fact: Garbuz means “pumpkin” in Ukrainian!" (City of Alpharetta Recreation, Parks, Cultural Services via Facebook)
- Diwali is this week! It's celebrated by people of Indian descent and there are many activities to mark the beginning of a new year. If you're planning to use fireworks, please make sure to check your city's regulations. (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
- There will be some road closures this morning due to the Alpharetta Women’s Half Marathon and 5K. In addition, part of the Big Creek Greenway will be closed as well. The event will take place between 7-10 AM and motorists are encouraged to avoid the area. (City of Alpharetta)

From my notebook:
- The City of Milton celebrated the opening of Mayfield Park last week. It is five acres with a pond in Crabapple. The ceremony took place after the park opened during COVID-9; the city recently picked a name. Taylor Morrison made a generous donation of $1 million to create the park and then donated it to the City of Milton.(City of Milton)
- Milton High School is making some improvements to their on campus garden due to an Environmental Education Grant from the City of Milton. There are plans to "add infrastructure like a work table, low-raised beds, benches, and a plant/tool shed to make it more efficient, easier, and more inviting to ensure the garden’s health and success. " In addition, there will be new signage and improved drainage.(City of Milton)
- The King's Ridge Christian School in Alpharetta held their Fall Choral Concert last week. It featured children from all grades including the Jr. Tiger Singers, the Middle School Vocal Arts and the High School Vocal Arts.
