- Watch out for road closures on Sunday morning for a Run4Dad 5K race in Alpharetta. The portion of Old Milton Parkway between Roswell Road and Wills Road will be closed from 6 a.m. until noon. Other roads that will be temporarily closed include Wills Road, Milton Avenue and Roswell Street, all in the downtown Alpharetta area. (City of Alpharetta)
- Soon you'll see Chick-fil-A delivery robots in our area! The restaurant in the Alpharetta Avalon will start using one on July 7. The robots are already being used in Texas, Florida and California and can handle multiple deliveries. They are insulated and can travel up to 15 miles per hour. (11 Alive)
- Many Alpharetta residents recently received their property tax assessment notices. The tax figures on them aren't entirely accurate for a few reasons. If you have any type of homestead exemption, they aren't included in your assessment. In addition, homestead homeowners have a floating homestead exemption that caps how much your taxes can increase from year to year. That cap is not reflected in your tax notice, which was generated from Fulton County. Here is a link to more information on the homestead exemptions: https://www.alpharetta.ga.us/h...
- The Alpharetta Police want to protect the public from phone scammers. They have been calling people in our area, posing as police officers and asking for gift cards to pay for outstanding warrants. If you receive this type of call, contact Alpharetta Police at the non-emergency line at 678-297-6300 ext. 1 or visit the department at 2565 Old Milton Parkway. Don't give out any personal information such as date of birth or credit card numbers. The police never ask for money over the phone or gift cards. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
