- Three teens have been accused of murder in a 16-year-old Suwanee boy's death. Abel Castellanos was found dead July 19 at The Residences apartment complex off McGinnis Ferry Road; he had been shot in the chest. Police recently arrested 16-year-old Miguel Gabriel Flores and they are still searching for two others: 17-year-old Jermaine Dondi Rimson and 17-year-old Joshua Ryan Poteat, both of Lawrenceville. (11Alive)
- Four French bulldogs valued at $25,000 were stolen from a Duluth home at gunpoint. The frightening moments were captured on camera and the victim said he's grateful none of the men pulled the trigger. The men got away with the four puppies named Blue, Tiny, Pebbles and Brindle; anyone who recognizes the robbers is asked to call the police. One of the suspects had blue tape on his face and is believed to have a face tattoo. (Fox 5)
- Negotiations between Fulton County and Alpharetta over the countywide local sales tax are not going well. At a recent City Council meeting, Alpharetta Mayor Jim Gilvin said leaders representing Fulton County’s 15 cities have met with negotiators twice since the county proposed increasing the share of sales tax distributions it receives. This change would affect Alpharetta and Milton because those cities would likely need to raise their millage rate enough to compensate for losses. (Appen)
