Here are the top stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:

  1. There is a good possibility Alpharetta and Milton residents will be able to tune in for a Sen. Raphael Warnock/Herschel Walker U.S. Senate race debate next month. Warnock said that he will participate in the debate Walker prefers if Walker agrees to another forum Warnock wants; this would result in two debates. 2. The City of Alpharetta will unveil on Tuesday, Sept. 13 a final plan for the new Waters Road Park that will be located near the intersection of Waters and Kimball Bridge roads. City leaders will discuss how the plans were adjusted based on resident feedback and the input collected during the March public meetings and surveys. The unveiling and discussion will be done as part of the Alpharetta Recreation Commission’s regular monthly meeting that begins at 5:30 p.m. at Alpharetta City Hall. Residents and others who are not able to attend in person can watch the discussion online at https://bit.ly/3BhTeyp or https://www.youtube.com/alpharettagov (City of Alpharetta)
  3. A paraprofessional for a special needs education program in Forsyth County was arrested on Tuesday after an alleged altercation with a student. Felicita G. Herrington, 56, of Cumming, was arrested on charges of second-degree cruelty to children.
