- Drivers on Webb Bridge Road in Alpharetta will notice some new construction projects over the next several months. Work has begun to replace the bridge over Big Creek and make a new roundabout at the intersection of Webb Bridge Way. The goal of these projects is to slow down traffic while enhancing areas for pedestrians and cyclists. (City of Alpharetta)
- Two vehicles were recently broken into along Mansell Road in Alpharetta. One was parked at the Passador Brazilian Steakhouse on March 6, and the rear window was broken. The second one was parked at Miller’s Ale House, and the the door had been forced open. Thieves stole a bag with electronics, baby items and other items worth about $300. Both robberies occured in the evening around 9:00 p.m. (Appen)
- Kudos to Milton High School graduate McKenzie Kurtz; she is performing on Broadway as Glinda in "Wicked"! Kurtz started in this role in February; she made her New York theatre debut playing Anna in the "theater adaptation of the 2013 Disney film “Frozen” in February 2020, just before Broadway closed due to COVID. “I got so many opportunities being in the theater program at Milton,” Kurtz said. She won numerous awards in the Milton High School theater program, as well as for other productions in Georgia. (Appen)
- A Woodstock man was sentenced to 60 years due to selling methamphetamine and making, selling and traffickin heroin. Edward “Jay” Lionel Ball was seen selling these drugs at the pool parking lot in the Kingsgate subdivision in Woodstock and later sold drugs to an undercover agent. Agents searched the house that he was renting in the subdivision and found nearly a pound of heroin. They wore hazmat suits after determining that the level of heroin in the air was unsafe in the home. (WSB Atlanta)

From my notebook:
- Part of the Big Creek Greenway has been closed due to repairs on the boardwalk north of the Mansell Road Overpass in Roswell. This section will be closed for at least 30 days. This project will cost $5.5 million and is funded by the TSPLOST (short for Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax). (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- Kenneth Low, a 13-year-old pianist from Alpharetta, has been selected as the Georgia finalist to play at The Royal Conservatory of Music’s Music Lights the Way Piano Festival. The event will take place at Koerner Hall in Toronto March 21-22. He was selected from nearly 8,000 applicants from both Canada and the United States and could win a Yamana piano valued at over $6,500. (Appen)
- The City of Milton's Tai Chi classes start today, and there are still are a few openings. The classes run for six weeks, and are taught at Milton City Park and Preserve, located at 1785 Dinsmore Road. They are scheduled on Mondays from 10 to 11 a.m. and are perfect for people who have some Tai Chi experience. (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
