Here are the top stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:

  1. Employees at the Wendy's on Mansell Road in Alpharetta called police because a customer pointed a firearm at them while complaining about her order. She claimed that her fries weren't in her food bag, and employees tried to explain that she already had them. She then left the restaurant. The incident occured on the evening of May 29. (Appen Media)
  2. A Marietta man was found dead in a business off Maxwell Road in Alpharetta. His body was found in the bathroom, and a family member told police that he was acting normally for hours prior to his death. Alpharetta police are investigating the death, which occurred on May 27. (Appen Media)
  3. A Fulton County detention officer has been fired after using "excessive and unnecessary force" on a detainee in Alpharetta. Monique Clark, who started working at the Fulton County Sheriff's Office in 2016, has been been charged with aggravated assault and other counts. The department is investigating the incident, including reviewing body camera video. Clark has been with the Fulton County Sheriff's office since 2016. (WSB Atlanta)
  4. A young bear was recently spotted near Foe Killer Creek in Alpharetta, which is in the northwest section. This is the time of year when bears are occasionally seen in our area. If you spot a bear, it's important to leave him alone; don't try to take a selfie or up-close video. In addition, make noise while walking in wooded areas like the Greenway so any nearby bears have time to leave. Don't leave food outside (including pet/bird food) and clean your grill after use.
